Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Weave.

A traditional weave typically lasts 6-8 weeks before needing maintenance. We recommend salon check-ins every 4-6 weeks to tighten wefts and address growth. Full removal and reinstallation is commonly done after two to three months to protect natural hair and maintain appearance.

When installed and cared for correctly, a weave should not cause damage. Use a qualified stylist, avoid overly tight braiding, follow gentle washing and moisturizing routines, and remove wefts promptly if you experience discomfort to protect hair health.

You can swim and exercise with a weave, but take precautions: braid or tie hair up, apply leave-in conditioner, and rinse promptly after chlorinated or salt water exposure. Inspect and detangle gently afterward and book maintenance if matting occurs.

Most styling should be done by a professional either during installation or after 48 hours to let wefts settle. Use heat protectant products and avoid excessive tension near the roots to maintain longevity and safeguard your natural hair.

Weaves can suit most hair types when matched correctly. Choose extension textures that blend with your natural hair—straight, wavy, or curly. A consultation determines ideal weft type and placement for the most natural, comfortable result.

Maintain your weave by washing gently with sulfate-free shampoo, conditioning mid-lengths and ends, avoiding product buildup at the roots, and detangling with a wide-tooth comb. Sleep with a silk scarf or bonnet and schedule salon touch-ups every 4-6 weeks.
